It’s a really stormy Saturday morning. The weather map looks like this:

But we’re still happy!

So we’re coloring…we’re taking pictures… we’re prepping our sewing project…and we’ret talking about babies. Several friends at church are pregnant and Garner thinks babies are in everyone’s tummy. Funny.

Sewing project: Riley’s Ruffled Top and Shorts by Bonnie Blue Designs

Fabric: No idea who the manufacturer is, but I got it at my local smocking shop called Lace Cottage.

The floral and yellow check will be used for the Riley. The green check will be used for this:

The Lace Cottage has a sit and sew every other Monday. When I was off for Easter, I stopped in and started the Riley. As you know, my Mom has taught me the basics of sewing and equipped me with all the necessities for a beginner sewer.

After choosing the pattern and fabric (that’s the hardest part!) I pressed the fabric, traced the multi-size pattern on tracing paper, cut out the pattern and fabric and went on my way.

The green check is for a bishop I’ll smock with the cute bug scene. It will be a spring dress for Garner.

I’m hoping to make a stop by a fabric store near my house today and see what kind of selection and prices they have. I’ll post again on my actual sewing progress.
